Co-created Strategy for Wonderful Copenhagen.
The Context
When Wonderful Copenhagen had to formulate its strategy for the next five years, they looked for a way to utilize the knowledge and ideas that existed among all its employees. At the same time, they were looking for ways to overcome organizational silos, strengthen cross-functional collaboration and implement new innovative work processes.
The Journey
Inspired by the Google Design Sprint process, I designed and facilitated a process involving the entire organization. All employees were involved through intensive 'sprints' that enabled them to leave their mark on the formulation of the final strategy. I ran 'sprints' involving external stakeholders and end users that informed the development of the strategy. Working groups across organizational departments were formed to work on different areas of the strategy.
The Results
An ambitious and bold future strategy was formulated.
A shared understanding of the new strategy was achieved through involvement.
New and innovative ways of working were tested and then applied.
Cooperation across the organization was strengthened
Over time, the strategy has proven to hit the spot on several parameters. Not least, Wonderful Copenhagen has succeeded in implementing it.
